A Day
The Library will be
closed today from 11:15 - 12:00.

- 7th & 8th grade boys’
basketball teams will be travelling to Fairfax. Bus leaves at 3:00.
7th grade plays at 4:00, 8th grade plays at 5:00.
- 7th & 8th grade girls’
basketball teams will be hosting Fairfax. 7th grade plays at 5:00,
8th grade plays at 6:00.
Any high school student
interested in volunteering at the Sheldon Elementary School at the Front Desk
from 3:30 - 5:30 or 5:00 if needing to take the bus home on Mondays through
Thursdays should see Mrs. Hartman in F7 by this Friday or e-mail her at
mhartman@fnwsu.org. This is an opportunity for community service or work
experience.

in the Vermont State "Voice of Democracy" competition held in
Middlebury this past weekend.
1, 2, 3, 4...NJHS declares a middle school PENNY
WAR! Check your pockets, look under your couches, and check your penny
jars! Bring in your loose change to help support the NJHS Relay for Life
team! Pennies work for your homeroom, but silver and paper money count
against your homeroom. SOOOOO, drop as many pennies as you can into your
homeroom's jar, and sabotage other homerooms by dropping silver and paper money
into their jars! The homeroom with the most pennies at the end of the
week will earn a free period of gym time! May the best homeroom win!!! STANDINGS AS OF THIS MORNING: 1st Place $.90 Hatin, 2nd Place $-.21 Green, 3rd Place $-1.31 Hillyard. Only two days left to claim free bragging rights and gym time for your prime group/homeroom.
Semi tickets are on sale in Mrs. Larose’s office
during all lunch periods from now through February 1st. Cost is $15.00.
Food and drinks will be provided.
If you are bringing a guest who is not an MVU
student, you must fill out a “guest contract” and return it to Mrs. Larose no
later than Wednesday, January 31st. The contracts can be picked up in
Mrs. Larose’s office.

Vermont is participating in GirlsGoCyberStart!
Audience: Teachers, Club Coordinators, IT Professionals, Principals.
GirlsGoCyberStart is a forward-thinking skills program designed to supply specialist
cyber security education to high school girls across the US. Using a suite of
online challenges, tools, and games that aim to inspire the next generation of
cyber security professionals while identifying the best and most talented young
girls in America. No prior experience with IT or security is needed. Prizes for
the top girls will be awarded and cash awards for schools with the most
participants. Registration is open from Jan. 29-Feb 16. The game will be played

Are you interested in math and competing for MVU
against area schools? The math league team is looking for more recruits.
Practice is on Tuesday and Friday at 2:45. Please see Mr.

Any student in grades 9-12 interested in attending
a career panel on February 7 at Community College of Vermont is encouraged to
sign up with Mrs. Hartman in F7 by Friday, January 26. There are four
panels to choose from: Health Care, Human Services and Education, Skilled
Trades including Renewable Energy and Manufacturing/Engineering.
The Franklin Northwest SU Superintendent’s
search will be concluding on February 7th. On Wednesday February 7th, there will be an
opportunity for the community to Meet and Greet, and ask questions of all
Superintendent’s finalist/s that the search committee moves forward. Your input
is valued by the Franklin Northwest Supervisory Union School Board so please
try to attend from 4:15-5:15 PM at Missisquoi Valley Union School Library and
