The 7th Annual Johnson State College Performing Arts Festival is October 27th from 9:00-5:00.  It is open to all MVU students who are interested in the Performing Arts including Band, Chorus, Theater, Dance and Tech Theater.  If you are interested in attending, please see Mr. Garceau or Mrs. Turner in the Music Room to get a permission slip.

Scholarship opportunity for 9-12th graders.  Voice of Democracy, Patriotic Audio Essay Competition for a grand prize of $30,000, with other potential prizes to include an all expense paid trip to Washington DC.  The theme this year is "American History: Our Hope for the Future".  See Ms Deb Lowe-Murray in guidance office or look for forms in the front lobby.  Deadline for this is Oct 31, 2017.

PSAT  (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test). The PSAT exam will be administered at MVU on Saturday, October 14 to sophomores and juniors.  The College Board automatically screens juniors for the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.   To sign up, students should stop by the guidance office and see Mrs. Greenia.  The cost is $16. The exam starts promptly at 8:00 AM and students need to be at MVU by 7:45 AM.

Attention all NHS members who are interested in attending the Fall Trail Work Day at Jay Peak:  Permission slips and field trip forms are due by the end of the day today to either Mr. Napolitano or Mr. Gildemeister.  See an advisor or officer if you have any questions.  The trip is scheduled for Friday, October 6th.

The Library will be closed today during Period 3 (9:40-11:02) and during 4th, 5th and 6th lunch (12:06-1:06).

  • 7th grade girls & 8th grade boys soccer teams will be travelling to St. Albans City.  Teams are dismissed at 2:30, bus leaves at 2:45. Game time is 4:00.

  • Varsity football team will be Windsor.  Bus leaves at 10:00, game time is 2:00.

Today in Sports:  (Please note that due to the heat and high humidity, the athletic schedule has changed. Please see below.)

  • JV field hockey game at Stowe is cancelled.  Varsity will still play, game will start at 5:15, departure from MVU is 2:45.  
  • Middle school field hockey will host Stowe. Game time is now 5:00.
  • Varsity & middle school cross country meet at Mt. Abraham has been cancelled. Practices for both teams have also been cancelled.
  • Boys’ JV & varsity soccer games are pending.  Announcement will be made around 9:00 am.
  • All sports pictures will be taken as scheduled.

Schedule Changes for Wednesday:

Attention 7th and 8th grade girls interested in playing in a competitive basketball league with the best athletes in the state: Mini-metro is one of the best leagues for playing against some of the best athletes in VT. Mr. Coppenrath is hosting a SECOND evaluation/tryout this Sunday the 24th of September at MVU in the gym from 4-5pm.  Coaches from the community will be there to help run the evaluation/tryout. We would love to see all 7th and 8th grade girls who have played organized basketball this Sunday at 4 pm. Any questions, please see Mr. Coppenrath in D6.
