A Day

The Library will be closed today from 11:30 - 1:06.

Teachers:  Please remind your TSA’s/Prime Groups that all students are to return their Chromebooks on Thursday, including the ones they borrowed from the library.  Over the break, the school technology staff will be performing routine maintenance and upgrades on them.  Please keep reminding your students to do this.

Today in Sports:

• 7th & 8th grade boy’s basketball teams travel to Vergennes.  Bus leaves at 3:00, 7th grade game time is 5:00 followed by 8th grade game at 6:00.
• 7th & 8th grade girl’s basketball teams play at home vs Vergennes. 7th grade game time is 5:00 (Red/White Teams) followed by 8th grade game at 6:00.

Yesterday and today of this week, students and teachers have an opportunity to participate in its first annual open gym holiday volleyball tournament. Tournament will take place during all periods except period 4.  Students with a pass from a study hall, or teacher, will be able to come to the gym to participate in the holiday fun. Whether you want to play or watch, don't miss this rare opportunity.

Registration forms for the Crossroads & AfterHours Winter session are now available. Please see your TSA or Prime Group Teacher for a copy. Extra copies can be found at the front office, Middle School Office, or the Crossroads and AfterHours bulletin boards. Forms are due back by Thursday, December 21st. Today, December 20th the Middle School is holding an Ugly Sweater Contest. Judges will go around to prime groups in the morning. First place prize - 2 passes to the Welden Theatre. Second and third place prizes - candy.

• Varsity girls’ ice hockey team will be travelling to Essex Skating Facility to play MMU/CVU.  Bus leaves at 4:15, game time is 6:15.

Today in Sports:

• 7th grade girls (blue & red teams) & boys basketball team will be hosting Alburg. 7th grade girls will play at 5:00, 7th grade boys will play at 6:00.

The sophomore class of 2020 will be having a meeting during TSA on Monday, December 18th in the theater.

Congratulations to Callie Parks on her 20th place finish in the 17-18 age division at the USATF National Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee, FL. Callie is now a Cross Country All American.

There is a Middle School Dance tonight Friday, December 8th. Make plans to attend 7:00-9:00.

On Tuesday, December 12th, MVU will be celebrating Blue & White Day.  In the morning, students will have a 1/2 day of school with shortened classes.  Starting at 11:00, grades 7 & 8 will have lunch.  Grades 9 & 10 will meet in the theatre and grades 11 & 12 will meet in the gym.  

Traditionally, Blue & White Days have focused on drug and alcohol awareness and prevention. This Blue & White Day will focus on taking care of oneself and building positive relationships.
