Audition sign up and materials for MVU's Musical “Young Frankenstein" can be found on the music room door (F11).  Auditions are December 13th.

As you prepare for the holiday season, please consider the Resource Management Program for your Christmas tree!  We currently have 50 Fraser Fir trees available for choose and cut sales.  We will be available by appointment M-F from 2:45-4:00, as well as during the Holiday Festival on December 10.  Prices for all trees are $30 each.  We will gladly shake your tree of all debris and bundle it tightly for transport using netting and professional Christmas tree equipment.

It's that time of the year again for our annual Charity Drive for Operation Happiness!!! We are now accepting used clean coats, non perishable food items, and new unwrapped toys. These items can be brought to the gym and Mrs Gagne will take care of them. If you are a middle school student, please place these items in the box located in your prime group. Please donate today thru Tuesday, December 7th!!! Thank you in advance for your generosity and Happy Holidays from Student Council.



There is a Middle School Dance this Friday, December 2nd from 7:00-9:00 pm.

Just a reminder the NJHS will be selling pies for Thanksgiving in the teachers lounge to support the NJHS.
Homemade pies are $15 and store bought pies are $10. There will be a jar and the honors system will be used. Check are accepted. Made payable to NJHS. Come grab a pie so you don't have to bake one for Thanksgiving!

Just a follow-up to the morning announcement related to next Monday, November 28th, when we return from the Thanksgiving break.  Both the high school and middle school will be following our B-day schedule, including period 5/6 electives and exploratory classes in the Middle School.  
Otherwise please enjoy the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and if you are traveling may you reach and return from your destination safely.

Attention Crossroads/AfterHours.  Registration confirmations are posted on the Crossroads/AfterHours Bulletin Boards.  Please take a moment to review and confirm your class choices for the Late fall session running from Nov 28 - Dec 22.

Any students who are interested in taking their driving permit tests and want to practice, the Library's website now has a resource for you.  It has 11 car, 9 motorcycle, and 12 CDL practice tests as well as online driver's manuals for all 3.  Go to the Research Tools tab on the website (mvulibrary.org) to find the link.

The beef is USDA inspected, locally produced, responsibly raised, hormone free, freshly processed, vacuum packed and flash frozen.  Bring a cooler to keep it frozen on the way home. Cash or checks are accepted.

Picture Retakes will take place today, November 17th from 9:00 - 11:00 in the theatre.  There will be a $5.00 retake fee and you must return your original photos. Also, if you have not already had your picture taken or were not given a new student ID, please report to the theatre this morning.

High school students in Concert Band or Wind Ensemble are invited to join MVU’s brand new high school pep band! We will be playing music during as many home sports games as we can. Practices for MVU Pep Band will be held after school on Tuesdays and/or Fridays. If you are interested in being a part of this, there is an informational meeting being held in the band room during TSA today, Thursday 11/17. If you can’t make it to the meeting and still wish to sign up, feel free to send an email to 17coburng@fnwsu.org.

On Monday, November 14th there will be a representative here from Castleton University. If you would like information on attending Castleton, please stop by the guidance office so we can get you a pass.

Are you interested in editing, writing, drawing cartoons, business management and or sharing the latest news about what is happening around your school?  Join Ms Douglass and Mrs. Moore for an informational after school from 2:45-3:25 on Tuesday November 15th in D13 to learn about how you can be a part of this new club.

This Saturday(Nov 12) there will be optional shooting practice for Middle School boys basketball players from 2:30 to 4 pm with Coach Thurber.

The MVU cheerleaders will be taking DVD orders for this years skit during both performances. $15.00 (single class + Awards) $25.00 (all classes + awards). Please make checks payable to MVU Cheerleading. DVDs will be ready no earlier then December 19th. Email Ms DiDio with questions.

There will be a mandatory meeting for girls basketball players in grades 9-12 on Tuesday 11/15 from 2:45pm to approximately 3:45 in room A39.  Following the meeting all registered girls are invited to get on the bus to attend a St. Michael’s Women’s Team practice from 5-7pm.  Only girls that are properly registered on the MVU Athletics website are eligible to attend.  Bag lunch is provided.

The National Arts Honor Society November Chapter Meeting has been reschedule for Monday, November 15th, 3:00-4:00. A32. Attendance is Mandatory. Please Have grade verifications sheets and chapter dues.

REMINDER:  Please do not use the front lobby for passage.  The only students to pass through the front lobby should be students who have classes in the Ag building and students returning from the tech center.  

Any 8th grade student or high school student that is interested in playing football next year is invited to join our after school weight training from 2:45-5:00 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

On Monday, November 14th there will be a representative here from Castleton University. If you would like information on attending Castleton, please stop by the guidance office so we can get you a pass.

The Elks National Hoop-shoot Contest is holding preliminary contests to qualify for boys and girls ages 8 to 13. Middle school students who are age eligible should participate in the town they live. The times are as follows -
Franklin Central School gym Saturday, November 12th 12:00 pm
Swanton Elementary School gym -  (12 and 13 years old only)Thursday Nov. 17th 3 pm

All students who want to play a winter sport, please sign up on line at mvuathletics.org.  Don’t forget to check with the school nurse to make sure your physical is up to date.
