  • JV & varsity girls’ basketball teams will be travelling to Vergennes.  Bus leaves at 3:30.  JV plays at 5:30, varsity plays at 7:00.

Semi Formal tickets are still on sale in Mrs. Larose’s office during all lunch periods.  Cost is $15.00 each.  Semi Formal is this Saturday, February 4th from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm at the American Legion in St. Albans.  

Congratulations to three of our athletes who qualified this weekend for Indoor Track New England Championships:
Hunter Tardy in High Jump - Cailey Comiskey in the 600m - Callie Parks in the 1600m.

There is ½ day of school on Friday, February 4th. Dismissal at 11:15.

University of Vermont Children’s Hospital Fundraiser Marvel Studios V. DC Comics January 3rd- January 31st.  Vote for your favorite superhero!! - (Donate money into their container during lunch periods). A mural of the superhero with the largest donation total will be painted on a school wall! (Along with their company logo and The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital logo).  All proceeds will be donated to The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital. Totals for all superheros will be recorded weekly and displayed in commons. THE WINNER AND FINAL TOTALS WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY FEBRUARY 10TH. If you would like to donate, but cannot during lunch periods, OR if you have any questions regarding the fundraiser please contact Mr. Dennis Hill (Principal) or Megan Czuchrey (Sophomore). Students in grades 10 or 11 interested in occupations in Health Care are eligible to apply for this summer's MedQuest.  This program  Introduce students to the variety of healthcare careers while giving the experience of campus life at UVM.  There are three different programs:   Therapeutic Services-June 19-22: Students will explore healthcare occupations focused primarily on changing the health status of patients over time. Diagnostic Services-June 26-29: Students will explore healthcare occupations related to the testing and evaluations that aid in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease, injuries or other physical conditions. Counseling and Mental Health Services- July 10-13: Students will explore health care occupations that assist people with mental health related issues and diseases.  Admission is competitive and scholarships are available.  More detailed descriptions of each session, and the application is available on our website at this link: http://www.cvahec.org/programs/high-school-student/med-quest/ or students can view the information on the mvuschool.org website, see Mrs. Hartman or a guidance counselor.  The application deadline is 11:59 p.m., March 10th, 2017.

Attention artists and a graphic designers! The newspaper staff is getting ready to publish their first paper and need your help to design the banner. The winner gets a $25 gift card to Dunkin' Donuts and to have their work printed on a newspaper that reaches over 2000 people. We are looking for something approximately 2 inches by 10 inches, incorporate "T-Bird Times" and allow space for the date. Please email submissions to tbirdtimes@fnwsu.org by Tuesday, January 24th at 3pm.

If anyone would like some eggs please order a day in advance by emailing Mr.Messier at jmessier@fnwsu.org!  Eggs can be picked up at the Ag building between 9:30am-12:30pm!

Attention all high school students:  Semi tickets are sale during all lunch periods in Mrs. Larose’s office.  Cost is $15.00 per person.  This year’s Semi Formal will be held on Saturday, February 4th at the St. Albans American Legion from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm.  If you are bringing a guest who is not an MVU student, you must fill out a “guest contract” and return it to Mrs. Larose no later than Monday, January 30th.  The contracts can be picked up in Mrs. Larose’s office.  

University of Vermont Children’s Hospital Fundraiser Marvel Studios V. DC Comics January 3rd- January 31st.  Vote for your favorite superhero!! - (Donate money into their container during lunch periods). A mural of the superhero with the largest donation total will be painted on a school wall! (Along with their company logo and The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital logo).  All proceeds will be donated to The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital. Totals for all superheros will be recorded weekly and displayed in commons. THE WINNER AND FINAL TOTALS WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY FEBRUARY 10TH. If you would like to donate, but cannot during lunch periods, OR if you have any questions regarding the fundraiser please contact Mr. Dennis Hill (Principal) or Megan Czuchrey (Sophomore). Students in grades 10 or 11 interested in occupations in Health Care are eligible to apply for this summer's MedQuest.  This program  Introduce students to the variety of healthcare careers while giving the experience of campus life at UVM.  There are three different programs:   Therapeutic Services-June 19-22: Students will explore healthcare occupations focused primarily on changing the health status of patients over time. Diagnostic Services-June 26-29: Students will explore healthcare occupations related to the testing and evaluations that aid in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease, injuries or other physical conditions. Counseling and Mental Health Services- July 10-13: Students will explore health care occupations that assist people with mental health related issues and diseases.  Admission is competitive and scholarships are available.  More detailed descriptions of each session, and the application is available on our website at this link: http://www.cvahec.org/programs/high-school-student/med-quest/ or students can view the information on the mvuschool.org website, see Mrs. Hartman or a guidance counselor.  The application deadline is 11:59 p.m., March 10th, 2017.

Announcing our newest travel adventure for 2018:  "Berlin, Prague, Krakow, Budapest, and Vienna!"  Come to our meeting on January 24th in the Highgate Elementary School Library and be entered into a drawing to save $100 off this trip.  Sign-up by January 31 and save another $200!
