A-DAY

ASVAB testing in the Library Wednesday, November 2nd has been cancelled. The library will be open all day.

If you are interested in purchasing a wreath to benefit the MVU Yearbook please see Carol Hakey for an order form.  Order forms must be turned in by Friday November 11th.  Don't miss the opportunity to purchase one of these beautiful wreaths and support our Yearbook!

Advanced Skit Night tickets will be on sale in Mrs. Larose’s office during all lunches. Tickets for Thursday night are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Tickets for Friday night are $15 (no advance discount).

Sophmore Skit Practice on Monday, October 31st will be at 3:00-4:30 in the Theatre.

"OPEN GYM/ Shooting Practice" for HS Boys grades 9-12 this Wednesday from 3-5.  Get your shot back in time for the new season!

The 2016 Championship Hockey Skills Clinic will be held at the Highgate Arena for boys and girls in grades 7th - 12th on November 1st, 2nd & 3rd. Please pick up registration forms with more information in the high school office near Mr. Lumsden’s office or the HUB.

High School Sports Awards are Thursday, November 3rd at 6:00 in the Commons.

Open gym for girls in grades 7-12 interested in playing basketball this winter. This week will be Tuesday 11/1 from 2:45-4:30pm.

All students who want to play a winter sport, please sign up on line at mvuathletics.org.  Don’t forget to check with the school nurse to make sure your physical is up to date.

Busted Ticket Drawing Today!!

A reminder:  The NJHS Horror Movie Night is today in C-20 starting at 4:30. Soda will be for sale. Admission is free. Donation of a pet supply for the Franklin County Humane Society is greatly appreciated.

Attention all students working on the Haunted Forest this Friday and Saturday evening: There is a brief meeting in the Trahan Theatre today during high school TSA/the beginning of period 7 for middle school. These students are to report to class first at 12:50 for attendance purposes and then go to the Theatre.

FALL RECESS - There is no school on Friday, October 21st and Monday, October 24th.

Anyone that is wishing to participate in the Johnson State College Performing Arts Festival FRIDAY OCTOBER 28TH need to turn their permission slips in by the end of school today.

The School Newspaper Meeting which was orginally scheduled for today has been rescheduled to Tuesday, October 25th.   

JV & Varsity Field Hockey teams will be hosting Lyndon.  This is their “senior game”.  Varsity starts at 3:45, JV plays at 5:00.

JV & Varsity Boys’ Soccer teams will be hosting Milton.  This is their “senior game”.  Games begin at 4:00.

On Saturday:  
JV & Varsity Girls’ Soccer teams will be hosting Milton.  This their “senior game”.  Games begin at 10:00.
The Football team will be travelling to Poultney.  Bus leaves at 9:00, game starts at 1:00.  The game will be played at Poultney High School.
The Cheer team will be traveling to South Burlington for a competition.  Bus leaves at 4:00, competition begins at 6:00.

On October 21, 2016 there is a High School costume dance from 7-10 pm in the gym. There will be prizes for costumes and a dance off! The admission is $6.00 at the door, $2.00 collected from each person will be donated to Christian Regan's family for funeral costs. There will also be a photo booth - all proceeds will be donated to the family as well. Food and drinks available for purchase.

Tonight there will be a VSAC  Paying for College Night from 6:00 to 8:00 in the MVU library. If you or your parents are interested in hearing options and schedules for paying for college, please RSVP in the guidance office. While reservations are appreciated, they are not required.

JV & Varsity girls’ soccer teams will be hosting Middlebury.  Game time is 4:00.


On October 21, 2016 there is a High School costume dance from 7-10 pm in the gym. There will be prizes for costumes and a dance off! The admission is $6.00 at the door, $2.00 collected from each person will be donated to Christian Regan's family for funeral costs. MVU faculty, staff, and students gathered together in the gym to share our concern and support for the family of Christian Regan. Christian, an eighth grader at MVU, died in a tragic accident last Friday evening. Our entire school community shares in the grief and pain of this indescribable loss.
A candlelight vigil will be held Wednesday evening from 6:45-7:45 p.m. on the Varsity Soccer Field. Participants are invited to wear red, Christian's favorite color.
This will provide the community an opportunity to offer their support to the family and many, many friends of Christian Regan.


Leonard Parent will be here today in the commons during all lunches handing out sports pictures.

Attention High School Students:
MVU is proud to announce that has partnered with the County Courier to create a student-run school newspaper. Advisers, Mrs. Douglass and Mrs. Heather Moore, are looking for motivated students to join this new club as either casual contributors or committed, year-long Editorial Staff members. Participation in this club is an excellent addition to your transcript or resume.  There will be an informational meeting in the Library on Thursday Oct 20th during TSA's.  Sign up sheets in the main office.
