B Day


Attention all NHS members who are interested in attending the Fall Trail Work Day at Jay Peak:  Permission slips and field trip forms are due by Friday, September 29th to either Mr. Napolitano or Mr. Gildemeister.  See an advisor or officer if you have any questions.  The trip is scheduled for Friday, October 6th.

Today in Sports:  
  • 7th grade girls and 8th grade boys soccer teams will be travelling to Winooski.  Teams are dismissed at 2:15, bus leaves at 2:30.  Boys will still play at 4:00 and the girls game has been moved to 5:00.
  • Middle school field hockey game at Milton has been cancelled.
  • JV & varsity girls’ soccer teams will be travelling to Vergennes.  Teams are dismissed at 2:00, bus leaves at 2:15.  Game time is 4:30.

The Library will be closed tomorrow during Period 3 (9:40-11:02) and during 4th, 5th and 6th lunch (12:06-1:06).

Hurry, don't miss  out on your chance to travel to Eastern Europe during February 2018 break.  The last day to sign up is this Friday, September 29th.  See Mrs. Machia in A-37 (cooking room) if you have any questions.

The 7th Annual Johnson State College Performing Arts Festival is October 27th from 9:00-5:00.  It is open to all MVU students who are interested in the Performing Arts including Band, Chorus, Theater, Dance and Tech Theater.  If you are interested in attending, please see Mr. Garceau or Mrs. Turner in the Music Room to get a permission slip.

Do you enjoy solving interesting problems and participating in friendly competition?  The Math League team will be holding a brief informational meeting this Thursday in E5 at 2:45 PM.  All interested students should attend.  Please contact Mr. MacCormick for more information.

Scholarship opportunity for 9-12th graders.  Voice of Democracy, Patriotic Audio Essay Competition for a grand prize of $30,000, with other potential prizes to include an all expense paid trip to Washington DC.  The theme this year is "American History: Our Hope for the Future".  See Ms Deb Lowe-Murray in guidance office or look for forms in the front lobby.  Deadline for this is Oct 31, 2017.

Seniors who would like to participate in Skit Night please sign up in Ms Dunphy’s office no later than Friday, September 29th.

Skit Night calendars are available on the wall outside the Student Council office (top of the theater).  Tryout times are listed on the calendar.

PSAT  (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test). The PSAT exam will be administered at MVU on Saturday, October 14 to sophomores and juniors.  The College Board automatically screens juniors for the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.   To sign up, students should stop by the guidance office and see Mrs. Greenia.  The cost is $16. The exam starts promptly at 8:00 AM and students need to be at MVU by 7:45 AM.
