B Day


Today in Sports:
  • High school athletes:  Gold card sales end today.  All cards and money must be turned in by 3:00 pm in the gym. Money Grab Bag will be at 5:00 pm at the MVU Booster Booth.
This weekend in Sports:
  • JV & Varsity field hockey teams will be travelling to Colchester.  Bus leaves at 8:15. Varsity plays at 10:00, JV plays at 11:15.
  • Varsity Football team will be travelling to Mill River.  Bus leaves at 8:45 for a 1:00 game time.
  • Varsity Cross Country team will be travelling to the Tree Farm in Essex for a meet.  Bus leaves at 8:30, meet starts at 10:30.
  • JV & Varsity boys’ soccer teams will be travelling to BFA St. Albans.  JV bus leaves at 3:30 for a 5:00 game time and the varsity bus leaves at 4:30 for a 7:00 game time.
  • JV & Varsity girls’ soccer teams will be hosting Enosburg.  


Early Fall/Fall Crossroads/AfterHours flyers are out.  See your teacher, visit your school office to get yours today!!!  The Spring session runs May 1 - 25. Please return forms by April 20th to guarantee your space. Classes with low enrollment will be postponed and late registrations will be placed in any class with available space.  

JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR TEENS - Vermont Afterschool is excited to announce that it as received a grant from the J. Warren and Lois Mclure Foundation for the 2017-2018 school year to create meaningful job and expanded learning opportunities for students across rural Vermont.  Ask your guidance counselor, or the after school coordinators for more information (abowen@fnwsu.org or hmoore@fnwsu.org). Apply today - limited positions available.

There will be a mandatory Upward Bound meeting on Thursday, September 7th after school in room D9.  Please see Mrs. Miller or Ms Poulin with any questions.

College Fair - Wednesday, September 20, 2017.  Students in grades 10 – 12 are invited to attend the College Fair at the University of Vermont’s Patrick Gymnasium.  We will leave MVU at 8:15 AM and return by 12:00 PM.  Students should stop by the guidance office and pick up a permission form at the start of school.   The college fair is also open to parents and students on Tuesday, September 19 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

Attention all Student Drivers:  Please pick up your parking permit application in the high school office.  Until parking spots are assigned please remember that seniors park in the senior parking lot and juniors park in the parking lot near the fields.  All vehicles must be registered.

Attention Seniors: please pick up your Senior Privilege forms in the high school office.  The Brooklyn area (outside) will remain closed until all forms have been handed in.

Attention all Senior Girls!  The 9th Annual MVU-BFA Powder Puff benefit football game will take place on Saturday, September 23rd at the Collins-Perley Sports Complex beginning at 7:00 pm.  Come watch the senior girls from our two schools compete on the gridiron to support The Bashaw Trauma Center at Northwest Medical Center.  If you think you have what it takes to be an MVU Powder Puff: the sign-up sheet is posted in the high school office.   Any questions please see; Mr. Hartman, Mr. Corey, Mr. Palmer, or Mr. Lumsden.  Remember there's nothing Powder Puff about this Football game!

Registration is underway for Introduction to College Studies.  This is a free class at CCV on Tuesdays from 4 - 5:45 p.m. beginning on September 12.  It is open to all high school students.  Please go to ccv.edu to register or see Mrs. Hartman in F7 or in the Career Center in the Library.  You may also see your guidance counselor as well.  If you are thinking that college may be in your future, this is an excellent class to gain an orientation to the college experience!

Students interested in working every other weekend at a local poultry farm please see Mrs. Hartman.
