B - DAY
JV & Varsity girls’ soccer teams will be hosting Middlebury. Game time is 4:00.
On October 21, 2016 there is a High School costume dance from 7-10 pm in the gym. There will be prizes for costumes and a dance off! The admission is $6.00 at the door, $2.00 collected from each person will be donated to Christian Regan's family for funeral costs. There will also be a photo booth - all proceeds will be donated to the family as well. Food and drinks available for purchase.
On Thursday evening there will be a VSAC Paying for College Night from 6:00 to 8:00 in the MVU library. If you or your parents are interested in hearing options and schedules for paying for college, please RSVP in the guidance office. While reservations are appreciated, they are not required.
There will be a representative from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences here Tuesday, October 25th at 8:30. If you are interested in getting some information about Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences , please stop by the guidance office and get a pass to be allowed out of class for this meeting.
On Monday, October 31st, there will be a representative here from Colby Sawyer College at 8:30. If you are interested in getting some information about Colby Sawyer College, please stop by the guidance office and get a pass to be allowed out of class.
Also on Monday, October 31st at 10:30 , there will be a representative here form Bishop's University. If you would like more information about Bishop's University, please stop by and get a pass from Mrs Greenia in the guidance office.
MVU faculty, staff, and students gathered together in the gym to share our concern and support for the family of Christian Regan. Christian, an eighth grader at MVU, died in a tragic accident last Friday evening. Our entire school community shares in the grief and pain of this indescribable loss.
A candlelight vigil will be held Wednesday evening from 6:45-7:45 p.m. on the Varsity Soccer Field. Participants are invited to wear red, Christian's favorite color.
This will provide the community an opportunity to offer their support to the family and many, many friends of Christian Regan.

The Library will be closed on Thursday during periods 3/4 and 5/6 (9:32 - 12:47).
All students involved with math league need to return their permission slips to Mrs. Hudak or Mrs. Larose for our first meet by Thursday the 20th.

SOCKTOBER! Bring in socks/gloves to donate to the good samaritan house... Collection box in the front lobby! Whichever crossroads site that raises the most socks will get a special surprise!
Attention High School Students:
MVU is proud to announce that has partnered with the County Courier to create a student-run school newspaper. Advisers, Mrs. Douglass and Mrs. Heather Moore, are looking for motivated students to join this new club as either casual contributors or committed, year-long Editorial Staff members. Participation in this club is an excellent addition to your transcript or resume. There will be an informational meeting in the Library on Thursday Oct 20th during TSA's. Sign up sheets in the main office.
All students who want to play a winter sport, please sign up on line at mvuathletics.org. Don’t forget to check with the school nurse to make sure your physical is up to date.
Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled for this Thursday, October 20th and Friday, October 21st. Parents of high school students can log into “Pick A Time” to schedule meetings (directions can be found on our website). Parents of middle school students can schedule with a guidance counselor.
FALL RECESS - There is no school on Friday, October 21st and Monday, October 24th.
NJHS Horror Movie Night is on October 28th at 4:30 before the Haunted Forest. Please turn in permission slips to your prime group teacher.
Voice of Democracy Contest is open to all students grades 9-12. Students should check in with their social studies or English teacher for a copy of the brochure with rules for the competition. The deadline is Nov 1, 2016.
