B - DAY
The Library will be closed all day today.
SOCKTOBER! Bring in socks/gloves to donate to the good samaritan house... Collection box in the front lobby! Whichever crossroads site that raises the most socks will get a special surprise!
Attention High School Students:
MVU is proud to announce that has partnered with the County Courier to create a student-run school newspaper. Advisers, Mrs. Douglass and Mrs. Heather Moore, are looking for motivated students to join this new club as either casual contributors or committed, year-long Editorial Staff members. Participation in this club is an excellent addition to your transcript or resume. There will be an informational meeting in the Library on Thursday Oct 20th during TSA's. Sign up sheets in the main office.
JV & Varsity girls’ soccer team will be travelling to Mt. Abraham. Teams are dismissed at 1:15, bus leaves at 1:30. Game time is 4:00.
7th grade girls and boys soccer teams will be travelling to Sheldon. Girls play at 4:00, boys play at 5:00.
Middle school field hockey team will be travelling to Harwood. Team is dismissed at 1:15, bus leaves at 1:30. Game time is 3:45.
JV & Varsity field hockey team will be hosting Rice. Varsity plays at 3:45, JV plays at 5:00.
Games this weekend:
- Football team will be travelling to Windsor. Bus leaves at 9:00 am. Game time is 1:00.
- JV & Varsity soccer teams will be travelling to Mt. Abraham. Bus leaves at 7:30, game time is 10:00.
- Middle school & varsity cross country teams will be travelling to Harwood. Bus leaves at 7:45, meet starts at 11:00.
The Middle School Sports Awards Night is Monday, October 17th at 6:00 in the Commons.
All students who want to play a winter sport, please sign up on line at mvuathletics.org. Don’t forget to check with the school nurse to make sure your physical is up to date.
The Swanton Public Library is seeking donations of new and gently used Halloween Costumes to be given away to children and teens at our Casper's Attic Costume Emporium. Costumes will be available during regular library hours beginning Saturday, October 15th.
Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled for next Thursday, October 20th and Friday, October 21st. Parents of high school students can log into “Pick A Time” to schedule meetings (directions can be found on our website). Parents of middle school students can schedule with a guidance counselor.
NJHS Horror Movie Night is on October 28th at 4:30 before the Haunted Forest. Please turn in permission slips to your prime group teacher.

Held Monday, October 10th - Friday, October 14th during 7th and 8th grade lunches.
Vote for the teacher whose hair you want to see dyed by placing cash and coins into that teacher’s jar. At the end of the week, the teacher with the most money will have their hair dyed pink and will be revealed on Monday, October 17th in the theater before dismissal to homerooms. Donations will benefit Franklin County Animal Rescue.
This fundraiser is organized by the National Junior Honor Society.
Voice of Democracy Contest is open to all students grades 9-12. Students should check in with their social studies or English teacher for a copy of the brochure with rules for the competition. The deadline is Nov 1, 2016.
