B Day


Today in Sports:
  • Varsity only girls’ soccer team will be travelling to Rice.  Team is dismissed at 1:45, bus leaves at 2:00.  Game time is 4:00.
  • Middle school field hockey team will be travelling to Stowe.  Team is dismissed at 1:30, bus leaves at 1:45.  Game time is 4:00.
  • 7th grade girls’ & boys’ soccer teams will be hosting Georgia.  Game time is 4:00.
The Weekend in Sports:
  • Varsity cross country team will be travelling to Thetford.  Bus leaves at 6:30, meet begins at 10:00.
  • JV & varsity boys’ soccer teams will be travelling to Milton.  Bus leaves at 2:30 for a 4:00 game time.  
  • JV & varsity field hockey team will be travelling to St. Johnsbury.  Bus leaves at 12:15.  Varsity plays at 3:30, JV plays at 4:45.
  • Varsity football team will be hosting Woodstock.  Game time is 2:30.

All high school girls interested in tryout out for basketball this upcoming season, there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 10th after school from 2:45 - 3:15 in room D6.  If you’re unable to attend, please stop by D6 to check in with Mr. Coppenrath or email him at tcoppenrath@fnwsu.org.

Reminder to Driver Ed students of their Guest Speaker today during period 4B in the Library.

The middle school has wrapped up the annual coupon book fundraiser. We are waiting for students that did not have sales to return their books in order to fill orders. We encourage you to order anytime in the future by going to www.gaschoolstore.com and search for our school. The prime group with the most sales and greatest student participation is Mrs. Hatin’s. Second place for sales and participation goes to Ms. Hankinson’s prime group. Thanks to everyone for your support!!

Pride and Pizza! All are invited to a pizza party hosted by Pride Alliance in the Maker Space next Monday, October 9th from 3:00 - 4:00.  Learn about about our group and our goals for the school while enjoying your pizza!

Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled for October 18th from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm and October 19th from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.  High school parents wishing to schedule a time to meet with the teachers can go on to “Pick A Time” beginning Wednesday, October 4th. Link will be available on our website. MIddle school parents, please contact your child’s guidance counselor to schedule your meeting.

The 7th Annual Johnson State College Performing Arts Festival is October 27th from 9:00-5:00.  It is open to all MVU students who are interested in the Performing Arts including Band, Chorus, Theater, Dance and Tech Theater.  If you are interested in attending, please see Mr. Garceau or Mrs. Turner in the Music Room to get a permission slip.

Scholarship opportunity for 9-12th graders.  Voice of Democracy, Patriotic Audio Essay Competition for a grand prize of $30,000, with other potential prizes to include an all expense paid trip to Washington DC.  The theme this year is "American History: Our Hope for the Future".  See Ms Deb Lowe-Murray in guidance office or look for forms in the front lobby.  Deadline for this is Oct 31, 2017.

PSAT  (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test). The PSAT exam will be administered at MVU on Saturday, October 14 to sophomores and juniors.  The College Board automatically screens juniors for the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.   To sign up, students should stop by the guidance office and see Mrs. Greenia.  The cost is $16. The exam starts promptly at 8:00 AM and students need to be at MVU by 7:45 AM.
