Mr. Thunderbird is Friday, March 16th in the Trahan Theatre at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10.00 per person.

Students interested in taken Summer Driver Education can sign up in the Guidance Office during the month of March. The deadline for sign ups is Friday, March 30th.  Students MUST have proof of a valid Vermont Learner’s Permit by April 1st.

The Library will be closed on Wednesday from 8:30 - 10:30 and on Thursday from 8:00 - 12:30.

On Wednesday March 14th we are asking all students who would like to participate in the national student walk-out day to wear orange. In support to recognize and honor the lives lost of the students and staff in the Parkland Florida school shooting. Supporters around the world will walk out of their schools to honor those killed in the massacre at the Parkland high school earlier this year. It’s more to commemorate the lives lost. More than 185,000 students are expected to participate in the walkout.

Bring your family, bring your friends!  It is not too late to join us on a fantastic 2-week tour of the British Isles during winter break 2019!  Our next meeting is this Tuesday, March 13th, 7:00pm in the Highgate Elementary School Library.  Travelers from our 2018 trip we be present to share lots of pictures and information of our recent trip to Eastern Europe. We will also be discussing documents needed and fundraising.  You do not have to be signed up for the trip to attend this informational meeting - hope to see you there!

For students attending the North Country Model UN conference, there is a mandatory meeting today at 12:06 in C6, and an optional after school work session on Wednesday in D8 from 2:45-4.

High school sophomores, juniors, seniors and their families who are thinking about what comes after high school graduation, should attend College & Career Pathways at St. Michael's College.  This is a free, half-day conference on Saturday, March 17, 2018, hosted by VSAC (Vermont Student Assistance Corp.) Topics Include: the admissions process & college search / how to pay—applying for financial aid, scholarships & grants /campus life, internships, co-ops & study abroad / New this year: skilled trades, apprenticeships, certificate programs that lead to great careers without a college degree.

The girl’s soccer and basketball program will be holding a 3x3 basketball tournament this Saturday, March 17th here at MVU.  This is a 1 day tournament.  Cost to enter is $40.00 per team for middle school and $60.00 per team for high school & adult teams.  Teams consist of 3 to 4 players.  There is limited space so if you would like to play, please contact Roy Adams at 802-796-4273.

The presentation by SSGT Martinson of the US Marine Corp about the NROTC program has been rescheduled to Friday, March 23rd at 10:00.

The 2018 Franklin Regional Career & Job Expo will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Collins-Perley Sports & Fitness Center in St. Albans, VT.  The bus will leave MVU at 8:30 AM and return at 11:00 AM.  If you're interested in attending, please see Mrs. Greenia in the guidance office to pick up a permission form.

Spring Sports registration is open.  Please register at mvuathletics.org if you would like to participate in Track and Field, Baseball, Softball and MS Golf.  If you would like to be a manager for a team, you also must sign up.  Make sure your physical is up to date, within the past 2 years and you are academically eligible (based on 2nd quarter grades).

The UVM Department of Mathematics and Statistics will be holding it's Sixty-First Annual High School Prize Examination in Mathematics on March 14th from 8:30am-10:30am in the library.  Any 7-12 graders interested in participating see Mr. MacCormick in E5 to sign up.

ASVAB Test, Tuesday, March 20th at 8:30 am in the MVU Library.  It's not just a test for entrance into the military.  It's a test designed to help you explore different career areas. If interested or have questions please see your guidance counselor.
