Parent Information Night - 9th Grade Orientation for Current 8th Grade Students and Parents is today Thursday, January 12th in the Trahan Theatre 6:00-7:30 pm.

Attention all high school students: Semi tickets are sale during all lunch periods in Mrs. Larose’s office. Cost is $15.00 per person. This year’s Semi Formal will be held on Saturday, February 4th at the St. Albans American Legion from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. If you are bringing a guest who is not an MVU student, you must fill out a “guest contract” and return it to Mrs. Larose no later than Monday, January 30th. The contracts can be picked up in Mrs. Larose’s office.
Emelia Palmer is doing a “soccer gear fundraiser” for children in Haiti that are not as fortunate as some of us up here are. The donations could be gently used cleats, sneakers, shin pads, long socks, or uniforms. The fundraiser starts today and goes through Wednesday 1/18. Thank you all for your consideration.

Below is the winter sports picture schedule. Teams should be wearing “home” uniforms for their pictures. Forms will be handed out at practice.
Thurs. Jan. 12th: JV Boys Basketball: 3:00-3:30
Varsity Boys Basketball: 3:30-4:00
Tues. Jan. 17th: JV Girls Basketball: 3:00-3:30
Varsity Girls Basketball: 3:30-4:00
Indoor Track and Field: 4:00-4:30
Thurs. Jan. 19th: 7th Boys basketball: 5:00-5:30
8th Boys Basketball: 5:30-6:00
Attention Crossroads/AfterHours students. The Winter Session of Crossrodas/AfterHours starts TUESDAY January 17th. If you have not yet gotten your forms in please do so by this THURSDAY. Registration confirmations will be distributed, and lists will be posted on the bulletin boards on FRIDAY.
Any student interested in community service - there is a volunteer opportunity for childcare on January 14 from 3 - 8 .m. at the Swanton United Methodist Church to help the Franklin Grand Isle Bookmobile at the Parents' Night Out Fundraiser event. If you are wanting this to help your community and add to your resume, please see Mrs. Hickman or Mrs. Hartman.
There is an employment opportunity for a student interested in working at the 1906 House primarily in housekeeping. This is steady part time work and is located in Enosburg. There may also be opportunities to wait table and office positions. Please see Mrs. Hartman if interested.
To all students - There is a new feature in the Career Center in the library - the Career Closet. There are clothes available to anyone who would like to come and browse and bags available to take what you need for opportunities such as interviews, career fairs, etc. Feel free to go alone and use the dividers for privacy.
University of Vermont Children’s Hospital Fundraiser Marvel Studios V. DC Comics January 3rd- January 31st. Vote for your favorite superhero!! - (Donate money into their container during lunch periods). A mural of the superhero with the largest donation total will be painted on a school wall! (Along with their company logo and The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital logo). All proceeds will be donated to The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital. Totals for all superheros will be recorded weekly and displayed in commons. THE WINNER AND FINAL TOTALS WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY FEBRUARY 10TH. If you would like to donate, but cannot during lunch periods, OR if you have any questions regarding the fundraiser please contact Mr. Dennis Hill (Principal) or Megan Czuchrey (Sophomore).
