B DAY
Today in Sports:
- JV & varsity girls’ basketball teams will be travelling to Winooski. Bus leaves at 3:15. JV plays at 5:00, varsity plays at 6:30.
- Varsity girls’ ice hockey team will be travelling to Lyndon. Team is dismissed at 2:00, bus leaves at 2:30 for a 6:00 game time.
- Varsity boys’ ice hockey team will be travelling to Burr & Burton. Team is dismissed at 12:15, bus leaves at 12:45 for a 5:00 game time.
- JV & varsity boys’ basketball teams will be hosting BFA Fairfax. JV plays at 5:30, varsity plays 7:00.
Winter session of Crossroads/AfterHours starts on Tuesday, January 17th. Please turn in registration forms if you have not yet had the opportunity.
HOMEWORK CLUB/ZONE is available in the library today, Wednesday January 4th including tomorrow the 5th and next week January 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th. THERE IS NO BUSING OR SNACK UNTIL THE REGULAR SESSION STARTS ON THE 17TH.
There will be a representative from the United States Air Force here on Tuesday, January 10th at 9:30. If you interested in learning about the Air Force and what they have to offer, please stop by the guidance office and let Mrs Greenia know so we can send you a pass to attend.
On Thursday January 5th, the Guidance Dept will be hosting Julio Salerno, a current student of Columbia University from Johnson Vermont. Julio will be available to talk about and answer any questions you might have about Columbia and what it has to offer. Please stop by the guidance office and get a pass to attend.
There will an upcoming bottle drive this Saturday, January 7th for the class of 2017 substance free party. Please save your bottles. Bottles will be picked up during the drive or you can drop them off anytime at the Swanton Sunoco. Please inform them it is for the class of 2017. Also, there is a planning meeting January 5th at 6pm in the MVU library for anyone that wants to join the substance free party committee.
University of Vermont Children’s Hospital Fundraiser Marvel Studios V. DC Comics January 3rd- January 31st. Vote for your favorite superhero!! - (Donate money into their container during lunch periods). A mural of the superhero with the largest donation total will be painted on a school wall! (Along with their company logo and The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital logo). All proceeds will be donated to The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital. Totals for all superheros will be recorded weekly and displayed in commons. THE WINNER AND FINAL TOTALS WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY FEBRUARY 10TH. If you would like to donate, but cannot during lunch periods, OR if you have any questions regarding the fundraiser please contact Mr. Dennis Hill (Principal) or Megan Czuchrey (Sophomore). Thank you for donating!
Math League participants please stop by D12 and pick up your permission slips from Mrs. Hudak for our next meet. This meet is on Thursday, January 5th in Vergennes, the week after the holiday break.
Registration forms for the Smugglers’ Notch 2017 Season Ski and Ride with Skill Program are available in the HUB and the front lobby. The program is for grades 4 through 12 and will run for 10 weeks beginning January 7, 2017.
