B DAY

All Students who are attending the State STEM fair please report to the media center today (Wednesday) during TSA to finish paperwork for the State Fair.

Today in Sports:
  • Middle School Sports Awards are tonight at 6:00 pm in the MVU Commons.   
  • Varsity boys’ ice hockey team will be travelling to Burlington (Leddy Arena).  Team is dismissed at 2:00 pm, bus leaves at 2:30 pm.  Game time is 4:30 pm.
  • Spring sports signups are now open for both middle and high school athletes. Please log on mvuathletics.org and click “register”.  Any questions, please see Mr. Lumsden or Mrs. Larose in the high school office.  All athletes must have an updated physical on file every two years.  Eligibility will be based on 2nd quarter grades.

ATTENTION ALL MVU TEACHERS STUDENTS and PARENTS:  Registration for the Crossroads program is going digital!  With your parent/guardian, please use this link to check out our new class offerings and sign up for your Mud Season after school activities.  Mud Season runs from March 13 - April 20.

PS... come join us this afternoon for our end of session camp fire celebration tomorrow at 4.  Head down the trails in the woods... we will be about 100 yards in... unless of course there is an extreme downpour.

Class of 2018 will be having a bottle drive on Saturday, March 11th.  If you have any bottles that you would like to donate and would like someone to pick them up, please see someone from the junior class, or you can contact Roland Laroche at 752-7509, or Marge Bourdeau at 309-1062 or pleasantacre@myfairpoint.com .  Leave your name, number and address and someone will get back to you.

Please join the Class of 2018 in a silent auction by donating something homemade or new by March 3rd.  If you are bringing in any items, contact Roland Laroche at 752-7509 or Lee Paquette at 782-0774 or via email paquette@franklinvt.net.

Upward Bound applications are due February 24.  You can mail your application to the Upward Bound office, bring it to guidance, or give it to Ms. Poulin in room D9 or Ms. Miller in D8.

Baseball open gyms will run from 9:00-11:00 AM in the gym. Open gyms will continue each Sunday at this time until March 12th.  Baseball players in grades 7-12 are welcomed to attend.  Please e-mail Coach Sargent at mvubaseball@gmail.com or message our Facebook page at Friends of MVU Baseball with questions.

Attention all Faculty, Staff and High School Students:  Intramural Volleyball signups are in the high school office.  Games will be played after school from March 8th through March 16th from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Tournament will be on March 17th.  Last day to sign up is Thursday, February 23rd at 12:00 pm.  Teams will be posted on Friday, February 24th.   Eligibility will be based on 2nd quarter grades.  

SAC 2nd Annual Youth Art Show Opening Reception is Friday March 10th at 6:00 pm-8:30 pm at the Swanton Village Complex.  Exhibit hours are Saturday March 11th at 11am-2pm.  The SAC Emerging Artist Award Winner will be announced at the opening reception.  All Art submission are welcome until February 24th deadline. Share your Creativity!

Students in grades 10 or 11 interested in occupations in Health Care are eligible to apply for this summer's MedQuest.  This program  Introduce students to the variety of healthcare careers while giving the experience of campus life at UVM.  There are three different programs:   Therapeutic Services-June 19-22: Students will explore healthcare occupations focused primarily on changing the health status of patients over time. Diagnostic Services-June 26-29: Students will explore healthcare occupations related to the testing and evaluations that aid in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease, injuries or other physical conditions. Counseling and Mental Health Services- July 10-13: Students will explore health care occupations that assist people with mental health related issues and diseases.  Admission is competitive and scholarships are available.  More detailed descriptions of each session, and the application is available on our website at this link: http://www.cvahec.org/programs/high-school-student/med-quest/ or students can view the information on the mvuschool.org website, see Mrs. Hartman or a guidance counselor.  The application deadline is 11:59 p.m., March 10th, 2017.
