  • Junior Varsity & Varsity Field Hockey team will be travelling to Lyndon.  Both teams will be dismissed for 3rd lunch (11:44 am - 12:05).  Bus departs at 12:15 for a 3:45 game time.

  • High school student ID’s can be picked up in Mrs. Larose’s office during lunch periods only.

  • NHS will be meeting in the library today, Thursday, during TSA.


Middle School Announcements

  • Field Hockey game @ South Burlington Marcotte Central School. Dismissal time is 2:15. Bus departs at 2:30. Game time is 4:00.

  • Cheer practice 3:00-4:00

  • Sports Awards are being held on Monday, October 19th at 6:00 in the theatre.

on Friday, 10/16!!!

Did you know that every 19 seconds a child dies of a water-related disease?? October 12-16 Mr. Sturtevant's Enrichment Group will be conducting a Change War in each of the homerooms for the Middle School. Our goal is to use the money raised to donate to the Thirst Project a nationally run campaign to assist those around the world with securing access to clean water. Prizes will be awarded for the top fundraising team.

Ongoing Announcements

  • There is Open Gym for boys basketball grades 7-12 on Mondays and Wednesdays from  6:30 pm to 8:30pm.

  • There will be a pre-season informational meeting on November 22nd, 6pm for students and parents about joining the MVU Dance team.  A pre-season program will be announced, as well as an overview of the season.  A 2-day dance camp is being offered, October 31st-Nov. 1st, that all members are encouraged to attend, a fun opportunity to learn proper dance technique and form with area dancers.  Please contact Karen Bourdeau for more information at kbourdeau@fnwsu.org or 868-0583.

  • Fall Dance Clinic offered October 31-November 1st at Mount Mansfield High School, presented by the UDA (Universal Dance Company) for Vermont Dance Teams.  MVU team members are encouraged to attend as it is an amazing opportunity to learn proper dance form and technique and have fun with other area dancers, only $65 including for both days!  Sign up online or contact Karen Bourdeau at kbourdeau@fnwsu.org for the link to sign up or contact her at 868-0583.  All levels of dance welcome!

  • The Yearbook Committee is selling Christmas wreaths.  Students will be coming around to see you or you can pick up an order form in Mrs. Hakey’s office.

  • The deadline to join the National Arts Honor Society is Thursday, October 15th.  All NAHS paperwork and dues need to be submitted to Ms DiDio in A32, or Ms Benoit in J14 by the end of the day, Thursday.

  • There is still room in the Crossroads FFA club for middle school students. Meetings are on Mondays and start Oct. 19th. See Mr. Wilde for more information.

  • October is Socktober. Socks are the least donated items to homeless shelters. Please join Crossroads, AfterHours and YouTube icon, Kid President by making your donation in the Front Lobby by Friday, October 30th.

  • Winter sports signups are now open for both middle and high school athletes. Please log on mvuathletics.org and click “register”.  Any questions, please see Mr. Lumsden or Mrs. Larose in the high school office. Middle school cheerleaders please note that you should sign-up under high school.

  • Every night in the United States an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets.  This October, SoulPancake and Kid President challenge 2 million people to prove that even the smallest acts of love, like donating socks, can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless.  As part of our participation in the national “Lights on Afterschool” October celebration and in honor of the 10th Anniversary of our Crossroads AfterSchool programs, Crossroads will join Kid President’s challenge to support our neighbors who are homeless during SOCKTOBER.  Please help by fill our Sox Box with new pairs of socks (or gloves) to be donated to the Samaritan House in St. Albans.  The Sox Box can be found in the Main Lobby during the month of October.
