A Day


Today in Sports:
  • JV & varsity girls’ soccer teams will be travelling to Milton.  Teams are dismissed at 2:15, bus leaves at 2:30.  Game time is 4:00.
  • Middle school cross country team will be travelling to St. Albans Town School. Team is dismissed at 2:00, bus leaves at 2:15.  Meet begins at 4:00.
  • 7th grade girls’ and 8th grade boys’ soccer teams will be hosting Winooski.

Leonard Parent will be in the commons during lunch on Wednesday handing out Fall Sports pictures.  If anyone owes money please bring it in at that time.   

350 cow dairy farm in Franklin seeking young adults for approximately 2 hours of work in the afternoon, 2-3 days per week.  Ingredients are loaded with a skid steer into a large mixing wagon, weights are measured on scale within the mixer wagon, and all feeding is directed by a feeding software program on a handheld device.  This position is currently open and we are looking to fill it.    If you are interested but inexperienced , this farm is willing to train.  Please see Mrs. Hartman.

SCHEDULE CHANGE FOR THE FAFSA Financial Aid Forms Workshop AT MVU - THe new date is Wednesday, October 18 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
We made this change because we recently learned that Governor Phil Scott has proclaimed October as FAFSA Filing Month.  SPECIAL ADDED BONUS: Any senior who completes the FAFSA by Oct. 31 could win a $1,000 scholarship from UVM, the Vermont State Colleges, Sterling College or Southern Vermont College when they enroll.  Please contact Beth Greenia, if you plan to begin/file your FAFSA that night or if you have any questions. The PSAT exam will be administered at MVU on Saturday, October 14 to sophomores and juniors.  The College Board automatically screens juniors for the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.   To sign up, students should stop by the guidance office and see Mrs. Greenia.  The cost is $16. The exam starts promptly at 8:00 AM and students need to be at MVU by 7:45 AM.

The 7th Annual Johnson State College Performing Arts Festival is October 27th from 9:00-5:00.  It is open to all MVU students who are interested in the Performing Arts including Band, Chorus, Theater, Dance and Tech Theater.  If you are interested in attending, please see Mr. Garceau or Mrs. Turner in the Music Room to get a permission slip.

Scholarship opportunity for 9-12th graders.  Voice of Democracy, Patriotic Audio Essay Competition for a grand prize of $30,000, with other potential prizes to include an all expense paid trip to Washington DC.  The theme this year is "American History: Our Hope for the Future".  See Ms Deb Lowe-Murray in guidance office or look for forms in the front lobby.  Deadline for this is Oct 31, 2017.

PSAT  (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test). The PSAT exam will be administered at MVU on Saturday, October 14 to sophomores and juniors.  The College Board automatically screens juniors for the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.   To sign up, students should stop by the guidance office and see Mrs. Greenia.  The cost is $16. The exam starts promptly at 8:00 AM and students need to be at MVU by 7:45 AM.
