A DAY


All students are invited and encouraged to attend the Franklin Region Job and Career Expo on Thursday morning, March 30.  Please, if you intend to go, see Mrs. Hartman or Mrs. Greenia for a permission slip and that needs to be into either of these ladies by this Friday.  If you have a resume, plan on updating and bringing it with you and know that appropriate dress is expected.  Be sure to stop by the Career Center to browse the selection of clothing and take anything you would like.  There are bags available below the rack.


Don't miss out!  See for yourself why the Topography of Terror Museum, Auschwitz, Budapest Baths (spa), or the Schonbrunn Palace in the beautiful and colorful cities of Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Austria are so amazing - sign up is only $95!  Brochures in the lobby or in A-37.  Next meeting March 21st, 7:00pm in the Highgate Elementary School Library.


Congratulations to MVU middle school Thunder chefs ( Hailey White, Austin Britch, Kenny Glennon and Devin Tuttle-Whalon) for the strong showing at their first appearance at the Jr Iron Chef this weekend.
Our MVU High school team (Julia Hieden, Brittany Merchant, Chelsea Rocheleau, Leah Small) brought home the Crowd Pleaser Award for their Quinoa Spicy Stuffed Peppers". Congratulations to for a job well done !


8th Grade History Night has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 23rd 6:00-8:00 in the gym.


MVU's Upward Bound is sponsoring a food drive for the Swanton Community Food Shelf and Johnson State College's emergency food bank for students.  Please place non-perishable food donations in the box in the lobby by March 24.  If you have any questions, contact Ms. Poulin or Mrs. Miller.


PLEASE NOTE:
Spring sports signups are now open for both middle and high school athletes. Please log on mvuathletics.org and click “register”.  Any questions, please see Mr. Lumsden or Mrs. Larose in the high school office.  All athletes must have an updated physical on file every two years.  Eligibility will be based on 2nd quarter grades.
There is a MVU Youth Baseball Clinic flyer in the HUB for any interested participants.
Middle School Spring Sports practices will start on Monday, April 10th.


The deadline to hand in applications for The Governor's Institute is Monday, March 27. Please be sure to hand in your application to your guidance counselor or Mrs Greenia.
  
The 19th Annual Franklin Region Career & Job Expo at the Collins Perley Center will take place on Thursday, March 30.  Any student wanting to attend, please sign up with Mrs. Hartman in F7 or Mrs. Greenia in Guidance before March 23.  Properly prepared students are expected to be dressed as professionally as possible.  Take advantage of the free Career Closet now located in the Career Center in the Library.  Cash prizes will be issued to some students who most impress exhibitors with attitude, presentation, politeness and proactive engagement.  Students can submit a resume for additional cash prizes.  We are looking for creative and professional resumes that reflect a career path or job intention.  Students also interested in participating in a mock interview please let Mrs. Hartman know.

MVU – SUMMER DRIVER EDUCATION CLASS – 2017.  Sign-Up & Pre-Registration takes place during the month of March! Students interested in taken Summer Driver Education can sign up in the Guidance Office during the month of March. The deadline for sign ups is Friday, March 31st  2017. Students MUST have proof of a valid Vermont Learner’s Permit by April 1st, 2017. For questions you can contact: Ms. Gates at: cgates@fnwsu.org.
