B DAY
Today in Sports:
- High School Sports Award is tonight, Friday, March 10th at 6:00 pm in the Commons.
- Spring sports signups are now open for both middle and high school athletes. Please log on mvuathletics.org and click “register”. Any questions, please see Mr. Lumsden or Mrs. Larose in the high school office. All athletes must have an updated physical on file every two years. Eligibility will be based on 2nd quarter grades.
- There will be an informational baseball meeting today, Friday at 3:00 in Commons. All high school players interesting in playing baseball need to attend. This meeting should take approximately twenty minutes. If you cannot attend this meeting please contact Coach Sargent at MVUBaseball@gmail.com or message Friends of MVU Baseball on facebook before Friday.

The deadline to hand in applications for The Governor's Institute is Monday, March 27. Please be sure to hand in your application to your guidance counselor or Mrs Greenia.
Pi Day is on Tuesday 3/14. Student who wish to participate in a pie making contest need to bring their pies in to school for Monday. The top two winners will receive a gift certificate to Shaggy's. The runners up pies will be put into a pie auction for faculty and staff in the teachers lounge on Tuesday, all proceeds to benefit the math league.
Congratulations MVU! Together we donated $484.22 to the Vermont Children's Hospital Big Change Roundup. The Field Studies Program is also proud to announce that Mrs. Hudak's TSA in D-12 won the pizza party by contributing $98.94! Great Work Everyone!
Crossroads Mud Season Season begins on Monday, March 13th.
Band Concert at 6:30 pm on Monday, March 13th in the MVU Theatre.
Choral Concert at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, March 14th in the MVU Theatre.
The 19th Annual Franklin Region Career & Job Expo at the Collins Perley Center will take place on Thursday, March 30. Any student wanting to attend, please sign up with Mrs. Hartman in F7 or Mrs. Greenia in Guidance before March 23. Properly prepared students are expected to be dressed as professionally as possible. Take advantage of the free Career Closet now located in the Career Center in the Library. Cash prizes will be issued to some students who most impress exhibitors with attitude, presentation, politeness and proactive engagement. Students can submit a resume for additional cash prizes. We are looking for creative and professional resumes that reflect a career path or job intention. Students also interested in participating in a mock interview please let Mrs. Hartman know.
MVU – SUMMER DRIVER EDUCATION CLASS – 2017. Sign-Up & Pre-Registration takes place during the month of March! Students interested in taken Summer Driver Education can sign up in the Guidance Office during the month of March. The deadline for sign ups is Friday, March 31st 2017. Students MUST have proof of a valid Vermont Learner’s Permit by April 1st, 2017. For questions you can contact: Ms. Gates at: cgates@fnwsu.org.
Swanton Recreation Commission is looking for a part time seasonal field worker for our 2017 season. Applicant must be 16 years of age or older, reliable and willing to work in all weather conditions. Work will start sometime in April with up to 20 hrs. per week as needed. Must be available from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm Monday thru Friday during school hours and Saturdays 7:30 am-noon or longer and possible some Sundays. Duties include mowing, weed whacking, raking, baseball/softball field set up, fence repair, small building projects and so on. Applicants are also required to be able to lift 50+lbs. If interested pick up an application at the Recreation Field Office at 16 Jewett St. We are an equal opportunity employer.
Class of 2018 will be having a bottle drive on Saturday, March 11th. If you have any bottles that you would like to donate and would like someone to pick them up, please see someone from the junior class, or you can contact Roland Laroche at 752-7509, or Marge Bourdeau at 309-1062 or pleasantacre@myfairpoint.com .
